Theirs to Keep (Tangled Hearts Trilogy #1) by Maya Banks

Book Description:

Published: October 22, 2013

When Cade Winslow and Merrick Sullivan find Elle hiding in the cabinet of a gun store, they know they can’t just walk away from the fragile woman with no memory of who she is or who tried to kill her. Merrick is training for the title shot in the heavyweight division as a mixed martial artist and can’t afford distractions, but neither can he turn his back on the woman who tugs at his heartstrings.

Elle feels safe with her two protectors, and the longer she spends with them, the more she realizes that she has no desire to remember her past. Not when it could compromise her future with Cade and Merrick.

Cade has his own set of concerns when it comes to Elle, and it quickly becomes clear to the two men that for the first time in their friendship, a woman is coming between them. But what if they just kept her there? Between them. Where she belongs.

Review –

This is a MMF Menage Erotic Romance involving a mixed martial arts fighter and his best friend who jointly owns a security firm and a woman, badly beaten with amnesia, who they take into their home, hearts and beds.

Over the course of the story Elle remembers bits and pieces and thinks the man who beat her and tried to kill her might be a cop. After Merrick wins the title she remembers the name of a town where she might have been when she was beaten, so the trio decides to soon make a trip and see what else Elle can remember so that her past can be dealt with and their future can proceed.

I thought it was good and the sex scenes were tastefully done but very explicit.

This is the first of three books in the Tangled Hearts Trilogy.

Morphoses (Apprivoise #2) by Arden Aoide

Book Description:

Published: January 13, 2014

Morphoses is a story of transitions. Miranda Marchand, manager and proprietor of Club Dishabille, has a bit of a secret. She’s not ashamed, but she’d rather not have to explain herself to men she might bring home. A chance meeting in a secluded hallway with one Nicholas Jones, ex-husband of Dahlia Warwick, exposes her turgid secret. It transforms her opinion about future possibilities. She wants Nick. She wants to see how far she can push him. She wants him on his knees…

Nick can’t get enough of her. While he indulges Miranda, he has his own transformation that takes him kicking and screaming into a functioning relationship, and he learns to let go of deeply held guilt from his previous marriage.

Morphoses is an epicurean adventure for those who love the Club DIshabille universe.

Review –

This is a follow-up to Dishabille and involves two of the characters from the first book.  To say that Miranda has a strange kink, that’s putting it mildly. I’v never run across  this in any of the hundreds of books I’ve read.  Are you ready for it?   Penis envy. She wears a strap on when ever she can and that’s not all she does with it.  This installment of the series is VERY kinky.

Review –

This is a very sexy short story  about a high lady who  finally finds sexual satisfaction with a low man, one that she never would have dreamt could do the job.

Fifty-year-old Adam has been a collector of lost and vulnerable souls most of his life, but a secret he has run from for more than three decades has kept him emotionally unable to admit love for anyone. Will Karla be able to break through the defenses around his heart and help him put the ghosts from his past to rest? In her all-out war to get Adam to surrender his heart, will the strong-willed Goth singer offer herself as his submissive and, if so, at what cost to herself?

Review –

This installment of the Rescue Me Saga deals with Adam, a retired Marine  Master Sargeant and Kayla, a goth singer twenty-five his junior and their relationship which started when she was just sixteen years old. They both bring baggage into the relationship and it’s rewarding to see the outcome of their hard work to become a couple.

Another great read for ADULTS.

Review –
This book surprised me in that the plot line was so intricate. At first I didn’t like that there were sooo many characters and even some that  were dead from the start but by the end I saw the reasoning.
This story involved three ex-Marines who co-own a BDSM club and  their lives during their military careers and afterwords. It shows the  battle scars of the mind and bodies and what it they go through to heal them.  This book deal with Marc and Angie and we learn their backgrounds and why they are the way they are. It is a real page turner and even though it is sexually  explicit and has very strong language, it fits the story line perfect.  This was a free book but I enjoyed it so much I’m buying the others in the series just to see what happens to all the main characters.
A good read for ADULTS.

As The Twig Is Bent ( Matt Davis Mystery #1) by Joe Peronne Jr.

Book Description:

  • Series: The Matt Davis Mystery Series
  • Published:  January 2, 2009

Someone is raping and strangling women in the Chelsea district of Manhattan – but, who?  The only clues are: a signature heart carved into each victim’s breast (inside, the initials “J.C.” and those of the deceased); copies of the New Testament (with underlined passages referring to infidelity); and fingerprints of a juvenile arrested in the 1960s.   On the case is Matt Davis, a plodding but effective NYPD homicide detective who is addicted to fly fishing – and chocolate. His partner is a one-quarter Mohawk Indian, Chris Freitag, to whom he owes a long-standing debt of gratitude. Complicating things is Rita Valdez, a female cop looking for “true love,” and not too particular about where she finds it.  As the Twig is Bent is an explosive thriller that rips the lid off the sordid underbelly of Internet chat rooms, and propels the reader on a no-holds-barred journey toward its bone-chilling conclusion.

CAUTION: Contains graphic sexual material may be inappropriate for some readers.
Review –
This was a great “who done it” involving  internet chat rooms, murders, mystery and fast-moving action.  The characters are well-defined and very believable and if you like good murder mysteries, this one is for you.

Overwhelmed By You (Tear Asunder #2) by Nashoda Rose

Book Description

May 25, 2014

Love is ugly and secrets will destroy you.

I don’t beg.
I don’t cry.
And I don’t give second chances.

Ream, the lead guitarist of the rock band Tear Asunder, deserves a gold medal for best dick move ever when he ran the moment he discovered my secret after two days of hot sex. Then he brings some chick to my coming home party from the hospital—after being shot.
I hate him.

Until …

Ream’s six foot two frame unfolds out of the car after being gone on tour for eight months. I stared. And in my defense, any girl would stare. It would almost be rude not to because Ream was the type of guy who stood out. Not because he was loud and obnoxious. No, it was because he was the complete opposite. Subtle and dangerously quiet. If he spoke, you’d better hope he liked you because otherwise you’d be falling at his feet begging for mercy. Except me … I don’t beg—ever.
But when our eyes locked, it was Ream’s steady confidence that had my nerves shooting off like jet sprinklers.

Ream told me he didn’t need a second chance because he was still working on his first.

Sex is ugly. It’s using someone for your own narcissistic pleasure. I did it, but hated it—until her. She was unexpected. Then I had to wreck our beginning with my screwed up past. I don’t deserve her, but I’m selfish and I’m taking her anyway. This is who I am and it’s too late to change me.

Review –

This is the next installment in the Tear Asunder Series and the plot of very good and had well-defined characters with good interaction. Again, there is explicit sex and violence and coarse language. If any of this offends you-DO NOT read this series.

Torn From You (Tear Asunder #1) by Nashoda Rose

Book Description:

Published: December 7, 2013

Love is like an avalanche. It hits hard, fast and without mercy.

At least it did for me when Sculpt, the lead singer of the rock band Tear Asunder knocked me off my feet. Literally, because he’s also a fighter, illegally of course, and he taught me how to fight. He also taught me how to love and I fell hard for him. I mean the guy could do sweet, when he wasn’t doing bossy, and I like sweet.

Then it all shattered.

I was alone and fighting to survive.
When I heard Sculpt’s voice, I thought he was there to save me.

I was wrong.

Review –

This is the follow up to With You and the sex and torture is very explicit. The story line is good and the characters have great chemistry but DO NOT read it if this type of book offends you.
