Review –

If you’re a fan of dark romance, Deliver is definitely a book you should add to your list!!

It’s dangerous, suspenseful, very dark,  erotic, and at it’s heart, it’s a love story. I’m not going to lie though, it definitely made me uncomfortable at times but that’s kind of what you should expect from a darker romance so again, in every way, this book delivered.

Please pay attention to the content warning on the blurb though. This book is not for the faint of heart but underneath everything, it was the story of what happens when good people are put into terrible situations. It shows their true colors in the face of dangerous and sometimes deadly situations. In this case, it was about one man’s care for a woman who had stolen him from his life, violated him, subjugated him to cruelty and despite it all, he was still determined to save her from a life not that different from his new one.

When reading you thinka story about  human trafficking for sex BUT it was so much  more. There is a giant twist and it changes everything.  I didn’t think Josh and Liv had a chance in Hell but believe it or not there is a HEA. That shows what a good author Pam Godwin is. She was able to pull hope from chaos.

Very good read but very very dark. Reader BEWARE.

I did it. I married a billionaire.

My reasons are my own, but the last thing I expected was to feel owned.

I may have taken vows, but I’m still determined to be me.

Now his rules are taking over my world, but I’m not the kind of girl to just obey.

There’s only one problem: I might actually be falling for him…

I have no idea how this marriage is going to go, but holding onto a piece of myself while succumbing to his dirty pleasures is shaping up to be the ride of a lifetime.

Review –

I still don’t like that one of the main characters is a Country Western star,(just not my thing) but with Sebastian York narrating the male ‘s part, I listen to it gladly.

There is definitely a lack of communication between husband and wife and that’s what causes most of the problems in this book. That, and the fact that Creighton seems to think he can buy problems away, like Holly’s record label -which she knows nothing about).

All in all I liked it a bit better than the first one but I still only gave it three stars.

OMG!!!!!

This book is so HOT!

Lily and Anderson are supposed to be spending their 15th wedding anniversary in Italy but Anderson puts work first and stays behind. Lily isn’t happy in their marriage. They are in a sexual rut. Anderson refuses to try anything new or the least bit kinky.

She’s having a drink in a bar and notices a very handsome man staring at her and she can’t help but stare back. The bartender places a drink in front of her from the sexy gentleman and she drinks it (of course).

On leaving the bar and walking back to her hotel she realizes she is very drunk, but NEVER does it enter her mind that she might have been drugged.

The handsome man speaks to her in an alley and tells her “you are mine” and she blacks out and awakens naked, blindfolded and gagged with her wrists restrained as well as her ankles.

The handsome man tells her is going to use and abuse her in ways that her husband would never dream of.

Lilly is appalled that she is turned on my the dirty talk coming out of this man’s mouth but SHE IS.

Everything he does to her, breath play, hot wax, ice, leather gloves, (you’ll have to read the book to find out how the handsome man used those in a sexual way) anal play etc. are the things she has fantasized about doing with her husband.

After awhile r=she realizes there is another man in the room. He is called Marco by the handsome man and he just watches. At least that’s what he does for a while. Soon the handsome man tells her that Marco has been the one calling the shots. After that things get real KINKY. There is DP and sex in other asunder positions all night and into the wee hours of the morning until she is finally begging them to stop because having just one more orgasm is going to kill her.

She wakes up a few hours later in HER hotel room and because she is so sore she had barely move, she remembers what took place the night before and she is ashamed.

So, to make a long story short – Her husband, Anderson, calls her that morning to see how she is and of course she is feeling horribly guilty for being abducted, having sex with strange men and enjoying it. She tells him she is coming home early and flies home. Once there she is a total mess and debates telling him all about it but decided not to.

She does tell him the she loves him so much but that spicing up their sex life would make things even better.  He agrees and goes to shower and his phone rings.  She answers and it’s the hotel where she stayed in Italy and they have the bracelet she lost. She finds out the man was calling for MARCO so now she knows that her husband was MARCO, the other man in the room calling all the shorts, and  had given her the fantasy of a lifetime as an anniversary present and she knows in her heart they are going to be just fine from here on out.

Fantastically sexy read.    FIVE STARS *****

The moment he told her want he wanted, she couldn’t resist. Instinct told her to run, but her heart said stay and walk the fine line between pleasure and pain. Because once he possessed her, he owned her and it would be too late to turn back. She can only pray that he doesn’t destroy her in the end.

Review –

Mastered is the first novel–and an emotional roller coaster–in a new erotic series by the very talented Maya Banks. If you’re a fan of really getting into a character’s mind while going on a journey of the heart, I think Drake and Evangeline will have you intrigued.

Evangeline  was unsure of herself, doubted her good looks and her  sex appeal, but knew she was a loyal friend and would protect those she loved. Drake started off all bad-ass alpha so it was a rocky beginning, but he turned out to be such a tortured character.

In the book we spend a lot of time  in Drake and Evangeline’s heads. This had a big psychological element to the plot, both with how the main characters evolved and with how they were becoming accustomed to their Dominant/submissive relationship. Drake realizes that “his angel” isn’t like any of the other women he has had before. She doesn’t want gifts of jewelry, money, or expensive clothes. All she wants is his trust and his time. Evangeline is naive and has no clue of Drake’s “other” business, aside from the sex club and he means to keep it that way.

What he has to do at the end is horrible for both of them, but especially Evangeline. All the faith, trust and respect that Drake had given her is forever shattered.

The book ends with a cliffhanger but I’m lucky enough to have it queued up and will be listening to it very soon.

Fantastic book with great, completely believable characters and VERY hot sex scenes.

Call Me Daddy by Jade West

Format: Free Digital Book

I want him to be my first.
I want him to be the one.
I want him to be my everything.

I didn’t expect to spend my eighteenth birthday stranded in the pouring rain with no way to make it home.
I didn’t expect to be rescued from the worst night of my life by the most amazing man I’d ever seen.

His name is Nick, and he says he wants to take care of me, says he’ll look after me, says I don’t need to be alone anymore.

He treats me like a princess, like the fragile little girl he saved from the cold.

But I like him… I like him like that.
I’ve never liked anyone like that before

And it’s weird, this thing we have…
It’s like I can’t decide how we’re supposed to be… what we are…
Until he says the words…

Call me Daddy.

Review –

The only thing I really liked about this book was the cover, but to each his own.

Although I read erotic/contemporary romances, or SMUT as my husband would say, this is the first book I’ve read that dealt with the DDLG relationship, and it was too much for me.

While the story was written tastefully and the sex wasn’t over the top I still found it “icky”( I’m using a word from the book)

Thankfully, for me, the book did end with a more “normal” relationship between Nick and Laine but I still rated it a two on GoodReads.

If you aren’t turned off by the DDLG concept then you should give this one a try, but for me I plan to steer clear of any more like this.

With You (Torn Asunder #0.5) by Nashoda Rose

Book Description:

Published: December 20, 2013

Format: Free Digital Book/Second Reading

Sculpt is an illegal fighter.

He’s also the lead singer of a local rock band.

No one knows his real name.

And from the moment I met him, he made me forget mine.

In order to convince Sculpt to give me self-defense lessons, I had to follow his one rule—no complaining or he’d walk. I didn’t think it would be a problem. I could handle a few bruises. What I hadn’t anticipated was landing on my back with Sculpt on top of me and my entire body burning up for him.

I tried to ignore it.

I failed of course. And having a hot, tattooed badass on top of me week after week, acting completely immune to what he was doing to my body—it was frustrating as hell, so I broke his rule—I complained.

Then he kissed me.

Author’s Note: This novella is Sculpt and Emily’s beginning and how they met. It is an extra and not required to be read before “Torn from You”. Their story and what happens to them is the novel “Torn from You”.

Review –

I first read this book in January 2014 and loved it then and now that I have read more erotic romances/contemporary romances and have a better understanding as to what makes up a great ER/CR I love it even more.

Sculpt, whose real name is Logan, is an MMA fighter and a member of the rock band, Torn Asunder. Emily wants to learn some self-defense moves and choose Sculpt to be her teacher. For five weeks he teaches her what she needs to know and doesn’t make a sexual move on her, but then he does and everything changes.

Emily has never had a boy/man pay attention to her as Sculpt does or treat her the way he does. She gave him her virginity and he tells her he love her and that she belongs to him and the next thing she knows she’s kidnapped and being tortured and sexually humiliated in a dirty basement. END

Hows that for a CLIFFHANGER ?

In the next book, Torn From You, we find out that Sculpt/Logan is working for a human trafficking/sex slave ring in Mexico and it’s his job to break and train the women as submissives so they can be put on the auction block. Raul, the boss, allows Sculpt to keep Emily as long as he wins MMA fights. Emily can’t wrap her head around the fact that he used her the long time and now is responsible for her torture and sexual abuse.

The series is well worth reading and though the mood is very dark and things look seemingly inescapable Logan and Emily do get their HEA at the end.

This is a great ER/CR series.

And yet there’s something about the quiet beauty that stirs his blood and makes him dream of the impossible. Because Beauty loving the beast only happens in fairy tales and KGI doesn’t deal in fairy tales. Ever.

Review –

I usually make it a point not to start a series in the middle, you know, not read 1-8 and start with number 9. Well, that’s exactly what happened with this book. I found it on OverDrive when looking for something to listen to and thought it might like the author’s other books, which I’ve enjoyed.

I could tell right from the beginning that not reading the previous books in the series caused me to miss out on all the why and wherefores and how KGI came to be in the first place. I’m imagining that each book deals with a member of the KGI team and so the names in this book didn’t really mean anything to me.

That being said, the love interests in this book, Swanny and Eden were too different and from completely opposing worlds and there was no chemistry between them at all. When they “fell in love” (which was instantly) they were too syrupy sweet. Made me gag.

The crime fiction part of the story line was at least believable but boring. Maybe if i had read the previous books I would have been more invested but I don’t plan on reading or listening to any more in this series. For me, one was enough .

Chained (Caged #2) by D. H. Sidebottom

Book Description:

Published: July 15, 2016

Format: Purchased E-Book

I had once thought that when I found the light I had been searching for in that long, dark tunnel that it would finally give me the gift I had been holding on for.
I had scoured the joyless night sky for peace, a peace that only the brightness of the stars could grant.
And I had endeavoured to catch that single magic snowflake in the middle of a howling snowstorm.
I had been looking. Forever.

But little did I know that it WAS the sinister darkness in the tunnel that was the gift. It WAS the black reservoir of the deepest, darkest night that would be the very thing to give my chaotic soul peace. And it WAS the heaving rush of the bleakest blizzard that was filled with magic.

Anderson Cain WAS the darkness.
He WAS the black peace in my soul.
And within the raging pool of his wild green eyes WAS the magic.
The magic that saw me. The real me.
He made sure I saw me too. All of me. He’d told me he would make me accept who I really was.

I was Kloe Grant. And now – now I am the epitome of what he wanted me to be.

But when I finally let go, and I allowed that darkness to find me, neither of us was prepared for who I really was.

Death itself.

Review –

Chained picks up right where ‘Caged’ left off. Immediately, the reader is plunged back into the screwed up pasts of Anderson and Kloe. Forcing Kloe to confront the memories that haunt her, Anderson is still out for revenge and plans to use Kloe as the means to exact that revenge on his father.

The characters are all the right and wrong things in the world. These two have seen more than their fair share of evil. The ways that they decide to deal with those evils are cruel and unusual, but in the end it was so beautiful. I cried throughout the story for the lives they led, the love they never knew, and the love they found. There are so many dark elements in this story, but they are portrayed so beautifully.

Just like Caged, this book will blow your mind and play with your emotions. There were so many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming…and a few that I did. I don’t want to spoil anything. This is one that you need to experience firsthand. Prepare to be shocked and left with an uneasy, disturbed feeling. If you’re a fan of dark, erotic stories, this series is a must read!

This book contains extreme violence, strong adult language and scenes of dark sex, including M/F/M.

I  LOVE this book!!

If you’re a fan of sexy, tortured Alpha heroes who will make you combust with their hotness, break your heart with their pain, and then melt you with their sweetness, this is the book for you!

This is the first in the Dirty Deeds series by J. Daniels and I had read the second one first, which  was Hit the Spot,(are you with me?) Jamie McCade was the male focal point in it and I hated his surfer dude character. In this book he plays a minor role and is much more likable so maybe I should have read the books in order. Who knew?

The male character in Four Letter Word is Brian (Dash) Savage and he is a honey. When Syd calls his number by mistake and chews his ass out thinking he was the man who broke the heart of her best friend by lying about being married, he was captivated by her sass and heat. A couple of days later he texted her and so their phone relationship started. He is going through a very rough patch, feeling guilt for an accident that put a young boy in a wheel chair. He’s been doing porn to make extra money to give to his family for the medical and care bills. But once he decided Syd is for him he quits but the films on the internet for anyone to see, Of course he hadn’t told her and of course she finds out. That was almost the end of their relationship but with the help of his sister the film company owner was persuaded to take the movies down. The book ends with an hea and it was perfect.

Sebastian York did the narration for Brian’s part and it was swooney. (I know, not a word, but it should be.)

This is fantastic book and I highly recommend the audio version, but the e-book would be almost as good, but  you wouldn’t be listening to Sebastian’s sexy voice.

Dirty Billionaire (The Dirty Billionaire #1) by Meghan March

Book Description:

Published: December 8, 2015

I’ve got a big dick and an even bigger bank account. That’s pretty much where my bio ends. Honestly, I don’t need to say anything else. I’ve just sold 99% of women on going home with me.

Do I sound like an asshole to you?

That’s because I am.

And guess what? It works for me just fine.

Or at least it did.

Until I met her.

Books talk about sparks flying. Fuck that shit. With her, it was like emergency flares mixed with jet fuel. Or maybe just straight up napalm.

Only one problem.

She didn’t leave her name or number when she disappeared from the hotel room after the hottest fucking night of my life. Now I’ve had a taste of unicorn pussy—the sweetest, rarest of all pussy—and I need it again.

So what’s an asshole to do?

I took this problem to the street. A missed connection gone viral.

And when I find her? I’m keeping her.

offers-headphones-jpgmaxheight138maxwidth207

I normally don’t read or listen to any genre of books involving Country Western music stars, but what can I say, Sebastian York was one of the narrators for this book, so I HAD to listen.

The storyline is a bit weak – a one night stand that turns into a marriage with the billionaire groom willing to help her career, but on his terms.

Not the best but not the worst either so I sat back and loved listening to Mr. York’s captivating voice.

Will I listen to the two other books in this series? Duh, with Sebastian York narrating I’d listen to any thing!
