Book Description:

Published: October 25, 2016

Format: Kindle

Stars: 5

It starts with a stolen kiss under an English sky, and it ends with a walk down the aisle. It starts with the President sending his best friend to woo me on his behalf, and it ends with my heart split in two. It starts with buried secrets and dangerous desires…and ends with the three of us bound together with a hateful love sharper than any barbed wire.

My name is Greer Galloway, and I serve at the pleasure of the President of the United States.

This is the story of an American Queen.

Review –

Sierra Simone is one of the most talented authors out there in my opinion, and she writes what I would call intelligent erotica. Her stories are steamy page turners with a plot that makes you think.

America Queen is no different. She takes a somewhat unsexy topic and turns it into something carnal and sexy.

Lust, deceit, secrets and politics interwoven together masterfully in this addictive and unconventional love story.

Greer Galloway political royalty. Raised by her grandfather, former Vice President, she is no stranger to politics. She meets Maxen Ashley Colchester, a war hero, when she is sixteen and the path of her destiny is set. It all begins with a kiss…. and it has the potential to bring down everything in its path.

As past and present are alternated through the pages, I was completely lost to currents event and political turmoil, just as much as lifting away the layers of the past.

Now Maxen is President of the United States and he is back for more than just a kiss. To complicate things, enter Vice President Embry his childhood friend, war buddy who has secrets of his own and they involve Greer.

This is a story of forbidden and unconventional love. A love that’s addicting and unapologetic.

Scandalous and carnal. All consuming and unstoppable. Sierra Simone once again turns up the heat to scorching levels. She prefers her readers with wet panties!!!

American Queen will make you feel all the feels and hopefully fall in love with all its characters.

For those romance-novel-loving people out there who want to dip their toe in some erotica, I highly recommend either this book. She may ruin you for all other erotica writers, but trust me. It’s worth it!

Beg for Mercy: A Dark Conclusion by Lucian Bane

Book Description:

Published: August 18, 2015

There are a couple of scenes in here that could be triggers for some abuse survivors. I did my best to be considerate of the sensitive readers while remaining true to the authenticity of the scenes.

The fight is on in this installment, Mercy is holding nothing back in her endeavor to prove to Sade he can experience love and pleasure. Sade, however has other plans and his darkness is front and center in them.

Meanwhile, Father Abraham is still on the loose with a score to settle with them all and no one is safe from his wrath.

Will love conquer all in this story? Can the heart really be used to recondition the brain? Find out what happens in this Dark Conclusion.

Review –

I think this installment of the Mercy series was rushed to a conclusion. Sade was a totally off the wall sadist and didn’t really seem to want to change and he  hurt and nearly killed Mercy in a very horrific and torturous way and in a very sexually explicit manner.

Father Abraham was dealt with much faster than I had expected but in a very gruesome way that I did not expect. A little bit of cruelty is okay but this was over the top.

Then all of a sudden Sade is a changed man and there is a HEA and a baby to boot.

Just a bit rushed for me.  Could have used another installment to tie loose ends up better. But that’s just me.

Underestimated #1 by Jettie Woodruff

Book Description

December 4, 2013
I set off on my journey in search of a new life, a life where I could be me without the constant scrutiny of my husband, or his cameras. Could changing my identity and erasing my entire existence protect me from the one man I was afraid of? Or was belonging to him my purpose in life?
I didn’t know how to be me without him. How could I move on when I still longed for the things he did? Would I ever be normal?
Review –
Drew bought and paid for Morgan when she was 18 years on and a virgin for the sole purpose of marrying her and treating her like did. He was a real sadist in the bedroom and every other room and Morgan suffered in silence. He controlled her every move and she had no friends. Finally after six years she was able to leave with the help of the cook and took up residence  in a small town in Maine. There she fell in love with the Sheriff, Dawson. She felt safe with him. All was well until she had to make a business related trip back to Las Vegas and one of Drew’s flunkies saw her. Trying to get away she crashed her car and almost died. When she woke up in the hospital she had no memories of her life from 18 forward. Drew moves her back into his mansion and treats her halfway decent although the sex did get a bit rough some times. This went on for months and Drew started to soften toward Morgan but still the sex was kinky and rough. Dawson was in Vegas looking for Ry(the name Morgan used in Maine) and when she saw him all the memories came flooding back and she knew her old life with Drew had been Hell on earth. She goes back to Maine and tries to decide which man she wants(she loves them both) Dawson makes her feel loved and safe and Drew is the opposite side of the coin. Morgan hates to admit it but she likes the kinky things Drew did to her.  This goes on for the longest time with Drew coming to Maine to see her and she going to Vegas to see him. It all comes to a head when she finds out she’s pregnant and doesn’t know who the father is. FINALLY, the baby is born and Drew is the father so she decides to stay with him. Poor Dawson, I felt sorry for him until I learned that while Morgan had been missing her and her best friend in Maine had hooked up. There ends the first book.  What a ride! I enjoyed it but I though it could have been shorter.
