Review –

I found this  book fascinating from the first chapter and the characters believable, the plot plausible and the action  fast paced. Even though I figured out who the “murderer” was early on, I didn’t see the fact that he had a partner. The storyline was a bit on the predictable side but the suspense  and the surprise twist made the read/listen very worthwhile. I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys police drama.

Livy notices him the moment he walks into the coffee shop. He’s heart-stoppingly stunning, with a blue-eyed gaze so piercing she’s almost too distracted to take his order. When he walks out the door, she thinks she’ll never see him again. Then she finds the note he left on his napkin . . . signed M.

All he wants is one night to worship her. No feelings, no commitment, nothing but pleasure. Every defense mechanism Livy has adopted during her solitary life is at risk of being obliterated by this confounding man. He’s obnoxious but well-mannered. He’s a gentleman but aloof. He’s passionate but emotionless. Yet the fascination is so powerful, Livy can’t deny him… or herself.

M awakens something in Livy, something deep and addictive that she never knew existed — and that she fears only he can satisfy. But she senses that behind the fast cars, fancy suits, and posh apartment, he’s aching inside. To have him, body and soul, she’ll have to brave his dark secrets. Delving into his world and breaking down his defenses become her obsession – an obsession that could shatter her heart beyond repair..

Review –

I just finished listening to this book, which  is the first in a trilogy, and my hands are shaky and my breathing is ragged. I just have to sit here for a minute to collect myself….. Okay, that’s better.

Livy first sees M (Miller) when he comes into the coffee shop where she works and she can’t believe how breathtakingly beautiful he is. He’s dressed impeccably and she can tell he is a rich, polished  gentleman.

M is taken with Livy too and asks her for twenty-four hours alone with him so he can “worship her”. After awhile and thinking about the pros and cons, Livy gives in and says “Yes”.

Their arrangement does not go smoothly and there are serious arguments on both sides. There are jealousies and hurt feelings and there is gentle lovemaking and harsh rough f*cking.

Livy can’t stay away from M even though she knows it would be to her benefit and he is totally obsessed with her. Livy has a past that haunts her every day and only at the end does she find out that M has one just as bad, and it’s not his OCD.

This is a story that will grab you by the nape of the neck and not let go.

If you’re looking for a new erotic romance to read, I highly recommend One Night Promised.
