Torture To Her Soul (Monster In His Eyes #2) by J.M. Darhower

Book Description:

Published: September 29, 2014

Don’t say it unless you mean it…

It’s a simple concept, one I’ve said time and again, but something people don’t seem to comprehend. You should choose every syllable carefully, because you never know when somebody will hold you to your word.

Somebody like me.

I’m not a good man. I’m not. I know. I have enough darkness inside of me to rid the world of every stitch of light. But there’s one I could never harm, one light I couldn’t bring myself to snuff out.

Karissa.

She thinks I’m a monster, and maybe I am. I taunt her with my touch, get a thrill out of torturing her soul. But I’m not the only one. The world is full of monsters, and I’m not the most dangerous one out there.

Not even close…

God help me, I love her.

I do.

And God help anyone who tries to take her from me.

Review –

I forgot to mention that in the previous book, Monster In His Eyes, Naz asks Karissa to marry him and she says yes, that is, of course, before she finds out how he has used her.

In Naz’s life it makes no sense for him to want her, even though he swore to wipe out the Rita family and Ray (a man who has been a father to him) demands her death, Naz can’t let her go. With that Karissa doesn’t make things easy for him. She’s angry, resentful of all the lies and secrets, and desperate to save her mother from Naz’s vengeance. But Karissa can’t deny that she wants to save Naz too. They love each other, it’s undeniable, but can that love ever be enough to overcome the darkness and hurt?. Naz has been full of rage and seeking revenge for so long, and his only solace from that ugliness comes from the least likely source, Karissa. So, he tries for her, and even though Naz knows Karissa would be better off without him, he’ll try his damndest to keep her.

Karissa doesn’t give into Naz right away. She doesn’t hide her fury or bitterness. It’s an intense combination of rage and lust that eventually explodes in a wickedly HOT way:

“I’m going to f**k it all out of you, every bit of it.”
I pull out and thrust right back in, eliciting another cry.
“I’m going to f**k you until you beg me to stop.”
Another thrust. Another cry.
“And then I’m still not going to stop, not until you say the word to make me.”
I pull back to look at her as I thrust again, deeper than before. Her breath hitches.
“I’m not going to stop until you say it…until you mean it.”
She stares at me, stubbornly, defiantly…silently. It’s a battle of wills, one she’ll never win. I’ll f**k  her until my heart gives out.”

There is so my angst between Naz and Karissa in this book that at times I had to just put it down and walk away for a while. The writing is done so well that I could feel the sexual tension between them when she truly hated him(he kills her father and later her mother) and is in the same house but ignores him, not even speaking to him.

Finally she decided to leave him and he tell her that if she goes she CAN NOT EVER come back so to be sure leaving is wants she wants and she goes.

Very near the end Ray discovers that Naz has killed Brandy and he comes to kill him and but finds Karissa at home (she came back because she loved Naz and couldn’t stand being away from him) and he shots her and she almost dies.

After she recovers Naz proposes again with his mother’s ring and they get married in Vegas with strangers as their witnesses. Nah tells her he is out of the family and will need to find a job.   END.

I haven’t started the next book yet but I’m sure the family will be coming after them, because NO ONE LEAVES  THE FAMILY.

Monster In His Eyes (Monster In His Eyes #1) by J.M. Darhower

Book Description:

Published: April 27, 2014

Ignazio Vitale is not a good man.

I suspect it, the first time I see him, sense the air of danger that surrounds the man. He has a way of commanding attention, of taking control, of knowing what I’m thinking before I even do.

It’s alarming and alluring. It’s dark and deadly. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted but the last thing I truly need. Obsession.

It doesn’t take him long to draw me into his web, charming me into his bed and trapping me in his life, a life I know nothing about until it’s too late. He has secrets, secrets I can’t fathom, secrets that make it so I can’t walk away, no matter how much I beg him to let me go. I see it sometimes in his eyes, a darkness that’s both terrifying and thrilling. He’s a monster, wrapped up in a pretty package, and what I find when I unmask him changes everything.

I want to hate him.

Sometimes, I do.

But it doesn’t stop me from loving him, too.

Review –

OMG!!!!! This book is so HOT I’m surprised my Kindle didn’t go up in flames. Just a minute while I catch my breath.

Okay, Here’s the scoop on this story:

Twenty years ago Naz and his wife, Maria were gunned down in their home by his best friend, Johnny Rita and he has been planning his revenge ever since. He wants to make him suffer the loss of his loved ones(wife and daughter) and then kill all three.

Naz is an enforcer for a mafia guy named Ray and has killed many times over the years with no regret. He is a bad man.

Karissa thinks she meets Naz unexpectedly but Naz has orchestrated their meeting, has studied her and knows just how to play her to get her to like him. He’s rich and gives her gifts and takes her to fancy restaurants  and out-of-town on trips  all the while planning to kill her. You see, she is the daughter of the man who shot him and killed his wife.

They have sex almost immediately in their “relationship”  and he likes it when she fights back and so some of their sex is very rough and he even chokes her, almost to the point of passing out. Other times he makes love to her and sometimes they just f**k. All of the scenes are HOT.

Along the way, he finds that he has fallen in love with her and no longer wants to kill her, even if Ray (his dead wife’s father, does, and she says she loves him too, but he still wants revenge against her parents and uses her to find them.

Karissa finds this out and realizes that he’s had this plan the whole time and that probably everything he has ever said to her has been a lie and she tells him she hates him. End of book one.

The emotions felt by Naz and Karissa are deep and dangerous and both know that their being together is not good for either of them.

YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK.
