Jonathan Drazen. Gorgeous. Charming. Smart. Rich.
All the ingredients for a few nights of mind-blowing pleasure are right there. He’s made it perfectly clear he can’t love me, and I’m not out to fall in love either.
But I can’t stay away from him. He’s got this bossy way about him in bed. The word “Sir,” falls from my lips, and when he tells me to get on my knees…well, my knees have a mind of their own.
I got this. I can be his slave for a few nights and walk away unscathed.
We get in. Get it on. Get the hell out. Done.
He knows the line between love and lust. It’s right between my legs.
Now, let’s see if that line blurs for me.

Review –

Jonathan Drazen tops my list of favorite book boyfriends, favorite sadists, and all-time favorite men. I want him all to myself. Rich, witty, brilliant, gorgeous, and a demon in the bedroom – oh yes, Jonathan Drazen is the ultimate hero. Monica Faulkner could not be any more kick ass if she tried. Her attraction to Drazen, her voice, her honesty, her looks, her morals, her self-preservation all contribute to a neatly yet chaotic wrapped package of beauty in a heroine. Add to these brilliant characters the non-stop, intriguing plots of the story, secondary characters who make their tale even better, and scorching, sizzling, smoking sex scenes made unable to put these books down. The writing of CD Reiss pulls you in from the very first sentence and she continually gives more and more to the reader as the story moves forward. Her books are addicting, smart, brilliantly written, and a gift to readers. I’m so happy I’ve discovered this series, and this unforgettable couple.

On to Book Two.

Sexy. Passionate. Mysterious.

Heated Russian encounters, seductive nights bound in rope, kinky birthday fun…

Brie is living out her favorite fantasies in the loving arms of her new Master—but darkness lurks in the shadows.
Love and loyalty is about to be tested.

Can Brie survive the demons from her Master’s past?

This boxed set includes Try Me, Protect Me and Hold Me from the Brie’s Submission series.

Review –

The bond between Brie and her Master, Thane Davis grows deeper as he pushes her past her boundaries to teach her  things that she didn’t even know she would like, such as fire play.   They travel to Russia to visit Rytsar Durov, the Russian Dom and friend of her Master and he reveals the truth behind his dominant nature, making her shiver in her and pure pleasure as her ultimate fantasy comes true.

Brie is GIVEN to Tono to be her Dom temporarily when Thane has to be gone for three weeks and doesn’t know if she can do it. If it hadn’t been for the displeasure of Tono’s father she would have asked Tono to collar her so her feelings run deep for him. Though it is a challenge for both of them, they come out as friends and not lovers.

Also in this group of books, Tono loses his father and it’s up to Brie to comfort him, per her Master’s decision.

Thane asks Brie to marry him and she finishes the film.

I know this is choppy but these are just a few of the high points. I can’t wait to continue this series and think I will try an audio version of book seven. Can’t wait!!!!!!

She’s managed to mostly avoid him, but now his son and her daughter need their help. Can Caleb and the spirit of the season convince her that she’s ready to take a chance on love again?

Review –

I came across this book while browsing OverDrive and choose it because of the short synopsis even though it was #6.5 in the series.

This is the first contemporary romance I have read or listened to that involved an older man and woman (in their early 50’s) and I found it totally refreshing and hot and steamy at the same time. Why more books aren’t written about this age group, or even older, I don’t know, but I would assume that the demographic  for contemporary/erotic romances are much younger. Maybe I’m in a minority, but  I don’t think so. Adult women of ANY age enjoy this type of book.

Anyway-back to the book.  Caleb is a retired military man and a dominant, who hasn’t had a submission woman for many many years. He has had an interest in Carlotta, the mother-in-law of one of his sons for a couple of years. Carlotta is divorced  and her ex-husband was a complete a**hole and treated her like dirt and made her feel worthless. She doesn’t want another relationship with a controlling man.

A situation comes up where Caleb needs the help of Carlotta so he makes his move and the description of the scene was spot on erotic.  They are interrupted before the sex act itself is done but they do eventually  manage to  come together, so to speak, and again the author does a fantastic job with the dialogue and description. It certainly doesn’t hurt that Caleb is a dominant at heart and talks “dirty” like nobody’s business.

The book also brings together characters from former books and made me want to read or listen to as many as I can find.

If this one is any indication as to the “sexiness” of the others, I can’t wait. (pant pant)

Dirty Filthy Rich Love (Dirty Duet #2) by Laurelin Paige

Book Description:

Published: September 11, 2017

Format: E-Book

I’ve discovered Donovan Kincaid’s secret.

It’s dirty and filthy and rich – as dirty and filthy and rich as he is – and it haunts me as much as he ever did.

Even after knowing what I know now, I still want to talk to him, to touch him. But there’s an ocean between us, and I’m not sure it can be crossed with something as easy as a phone call or a plane ride.

Yet I’m willing to try.

He doesn’t know this yet, but this time I’m the one with the power. And maybe – just maybe – if the air were cleared and all our secrets bared, there could still be a chance for us.

And this dirty, filthy thing between us might end up being love after all.

Review –
This is the second book in the Dirty Duet series  and takes off immediately where Dirty Filthy Rich Men ended; leaving Sabrina in the aftermath of her revelations about Donovan.
He never expected for his heart to get muddled  or to even give it to anyone else again after so many years of hiding it behind substantial walls. But if his actions are anything to go by, he’s done just that with Sabrina. And though he was willing to walk away from her to protect her from himself, the pull between them is much too strong.
The author pulls us deeper into the path of this couple and their dark brand of kink. She throws us right into the focal point  of their storm and it was impossible to tear your attention away for even a second. I’ve always loved Donovan’s strength, vigor, sexiness and controlling nature,  but I loved seeing his vulnerable side even more(very HOT). The man is all sorts of delicious with his possessive and dominant tendencies. I loved seeing Sabrina put him in his place while giving into him at the same time, and  loved watching the sparks between them blaze hotter and hotter until it explodes into something sinfully delicious.
And we get an immensely satisfying ending!

I can’t believe that this is my first experience with the writings of CD Reiss  but it definitely won’t be the last and let me tell you why.

Not only was this book filled with inferno hot, steamy sex but it was an emotional roller coaster ride of two people who spent years together and yet drift  apart.

Diana leaves Adam a note telling him that she doesn’t love him any more and he is beyond devastated. He has loved her from the moment they met.

At first, he doesn’t accept what she’s telling him and tries to get her to come back only to have her refuse him at every turn.

Some background  here would be helpful – Adam was a Dom and belonged to a sex club and owned a house where he would take submissive to break them before he met Diana. Diana, on the other hand, was prim and proper and totally vanilla and since he had never  been able to love a sub, he did not want to introduce her to the life style.

After years of marriage and working together Diana feels something is missing and that Adam’s head is somewhere else when they have sex. She’s right. Adam wants to be a Dominant again but loves Diana too much to bring that into the bedroom.

The saying goes, it takes two to tango. That’s because they spent years together without ever revealing their true selves. It’s difficult to love someone else if you’re not truly embracing yourself. With Adam’s fear of showing his dominance with Diana, he held so much of himself back. Denying his true self was his biggest mistake and once he regains the control he’s ignored for so long, he begins to feel free and euphoric. Dominant Adam was way intense and a major turn on!! ( and don’t get me started on the male narrator, Sebastian York and his dominant voice, OMG, he could have been reading a phone book and my blood still would have churned)

I didn’t care for Diana until the POV of the story switched to her and the reader saw where she was coming from. Each of them had things they weren’t sharing with the other and it was their downfall.

Adam proposes that Diana give herself over to him for 30 days and let him show her his Dominant side. He’s always believed he could never combine love with his dominant lifestyle. That is until he offers up this  deal to his soon-to-be ex-wife. Thirty days in a cottage together. Thirty days to return to his old self and hopefully in the process, fall out of love with Diana so that he can move on with his heart still relatively in one piece.

Along the way Diana discovers that she IS a submissive and has been craving what a Dom can give her even though she didn’t know it, but Adam discovers that by breaking Diana sexually he now doesn’t love her in the same way.

The tables have turned and now Diana is the one trying to put their marriage back together and Adam is the one walking away.

The follow-up book, SEPARATION GAMES, comes out in January and I can not wait.

This book is extremely sexual, describing explicit sex and using very explicit language. Reader beware.

Giving In (Surrender Trilogy #2) by Maya Banks

Book Description:

Published: May 6, 2014

Kylie sees the way Jensen looks at her. The dark promise in his eyes. That rough edge of dominance she knows he possesses. But dominance is the one thing that frightens her above all else. She and her brother barely survived a childhood steeped in violence and abuse. She could never give up total control and submit to a man. Especially a man like Jensen. Could she?

Jensen sees the shadows in Kylie’s eyes. Knows he has to tread very carefully or risk losing any chance he has with her. All he wants is the opportunity to show her that dominance doesn’t equal pain, bondage or discipline. That emotional surrender is the most powerful of all, and that to submit—fully to him—will fulfill the aching void in her heart in a way nothing else ever will.

Review –

In this book both of the main characters, Kylie and Jensen, have to give and take if their relationship is going to work. It won’t be easy for either of them but after several stumbling blocks and misunderstandings they do get their HEA, but not my favorite of the series.

Adult with explicit sex

Suddenly Isabella is discovering a side of herself she never knew existed. But she is also learning more about the alluring James Berkeley. Is his desperate past something she can help heal? Or will the flames of passion consume them both when the cameras start rolling?

Review –

This book is the first in The Spotlight Series about a dominant driven director and a want to be script writer. James falls for Isabella at their first meeting and he decides then and there that she must be his. Isabella, while liking his attention and gifts, feels uncertain about her feelings for him. Since this is an erotic romance there is lots of sex but overly done. At the end of the book James is going to direct a movie making Isabella the female lead,

Review –

I had not planned to read this series because of all the hype but my sister-in-law in Alabama persuaded me to give in and try them.  So, okay, I decided I would BUT I would not BUY them.  I put the first one on hold at our local library and was called a couple of days later that they had it ready for me.

I really don’t know what I expected but it certainly wasn’t  what I found.  It was much more descriptively ( I don’t think that’s a word but oh well.) sexual than I thought it would be and it actually had a plot which I also had not expected.  It was a very fast read and I took it back to the library in a day and a half and put the second one on hold…….more on that one later. My favorite parts are the emails between Christian and Ana, I thought the author did a good job with those. As a hold I learned more about some things that I’ll ever need to know. Enough said.

After reading this one I HAD  to go on to the next one, didn’t I?

If things sexual in a book bother you this is not the series for you, stay clear.
