Any.
Means.
Necessary.

But when a curvy little sub catches his eye at the Haven, he is forced to choose loyalty over love.

His allegiance lies with his friends at The Center, and the time has come to prepare their rescue of Rytsar Durov—one of their own.

Review –

We learn sooo much about Todd Wallace, aka Faelan, in this installment of the  Brie’s Submission series that I almost couldn’t stand it.

Faelan has always been one of my favorite supporting characters and I’ve always considered him weaker than the other Doms, in stature and personality BUT that is most definitely NOT the case. He’s been unlucky in love but finds a woman in this book that I think will turn out to be his soul mate. She helps him finally put the tragedy of the car crash behind him and at the very end we find out that Trevor was not the saint everyone thought him to be.

He and Captain and Samantha agree to go to Russia to rescue Rystar Durov and of course, in between everything else, he protected Brie from the crazy half-sister, Lily.

Love this installment.

Claim Me (Brie’s Submission #9) by Red Phoenix

Book Description:

Fairy tales come true…

Brie Bennett’s Master is about to make all of her dreams come true. The wedding is almost here but darkness lies ahead—a plot so horrendous it will rock their foundation to the core.

Yet love as fierce and passionate as theirs cannot be denied. Join our favorite submissive as she discovers the romance that awaits when an Italian Dom plans the wedding of the century for his cherished bride.

Review –

I also read numbers seven and eight of this series and enjoyed them, but this one has been my least favorite of the series so far.

There was just too much “lovey dovey” and everything coming up roses because of the fairy-tale-like wedding and honeymoon, until the  end and then we were back to fictional reality.

The next book, Enchant Me, is about the honeymoon and getting Brie pregnant (which does happen) and ends with  a great cliffhanger.

The next two books deal with Master Brad Anderson and Tono and we learn some of their background  and their quests to find their soulmates.

I’m just about to finish up  A Cowboy’s Heart, which deals with Sir Brad Anderson and will report on it shortly.

Sexy. Passionate. Mysterious.

Brie Bennett’s life becomes an exotic adventure as a newly collared submissive.

Heated Russian encounters, seductive nights bound in rope, kinky birthday fun…

Brie is living out her favorite fantasies in the loving arms of her new Master—but darkness lurks in the shadows.
Love and loyalty is about to be tested.

Can Brie survive the demons from her Master’s past?

This boxed set includes Try Me, Protect Me and Hold Me from the Brie’s Submission series.

Review –

The bond between Brie and her Master, Thane Davis grows deeper as he pushes her past her boundaries to teach her  things that she didn’t even know she would like, such as fire play.   They travel to Russia to visit Rytsar Durov, the Russian Dom and friend of her Master and he reveals the truth behind his dominant nature, making her shiver in her and pure pleasure as her ultimate fantasy comes true.

Brie is GIVEN to Tono to be her Dom temporarily when Thane has to be gone for three weeks and doesn’t know if she can do it. If it hadn’t been for the displeasure of Tono’s father she would have asked Tono to collar her so her feelings run deep for him. Though it is a challenge for both of them, they come out as friends and not lovers.

Also in this group of books, Tono loses his father and it’s up to Brie to comfort him, per her Master’s decision.

Thane asks Brie to marry him and she finishes the film.

I know this is choppy but these are just a few of the high points. I can’t wait to continue this series and think I will try an audio version of book seven. Can’t wait!!!!!!

Surrender to Me (Wicked Lovers #4) by Shayla Black

Book Description:

Published: March 1, 2011

Format: Audio/Audible

A secret fantasy.

Hunter had everything until a bullet put his career as a Navy SEAL on hold. Restless and uncertain about his future, he accepts an intriguing proposition: share an acquaintance’s girlfriend and fulfill her fantasy of a ménage. It should have been just a night of sexual adventure between three consenting adults. But Kata is like no other girl Hunter has ever met. By turns audacious and sexy, then vulnerable and aloof, she’s a heartbreaker he’s determined to master. But he needs more than one night. And he wants to do it alone.

An uncontrollable obsession.

Kata never expected to leave her comfortable relationship and explore something so dangerously forbidden with a stranger. Hard as she tries to resist, the guilty pleasure overwhelms her, and she surrenders herself, inch by inch, to the hardcore man who wants her for himself. Consumed by blazing desire, they’re soon threatened by the shadows of the past. And now to keep Kata safe, Hunter makes her a bold proposition of his own. Saying yes will destroy her heart. But saying no could cost Kata her life.

Review –

This is the fourth book in the Wicked Lovers series and I loved the character of Hunter, a hunk of dominant alpha male but Kata did things that just got on my last nerve.

Kata meets Hunter at her birthday party in Vegas and her male friend with benefits has asked Hunter to help make her fantasy of a menage come true. He agrees but soon realizes he wants her all to himself, so he gets the other guy drunk so he can’t take part. Later, neither her or Kata are feeling any pain and on a whim get married.

In the morning she doesn’t remember that part and wants out. Hunter says NOT SO FAST, he can see that she will be a perfect submissive for him. He just has to convince her and he doesn’t have much time. His military medical leave will be up soon.

Hunter is an all-or-nothing kind of guy, so he expected a full surrender from Kata. But Kata just kept resisting and resisting until it just got annoying. I understand her conflicts with her stepfather, who demeaned her mother, and her independent nature, but all her crying and whining started to get to me.

She didn’t want to submit, so she gives Hunter  divorce papers and he said he would sign if she would give him one more romantic night without any BDSM kink (which is what she said she wants) But then she realizes that she doesn’t want that and insist on doing things Hunter’s way. And let me tell you, when she surrenders completely, it’s worth it all for Hunter.

The last few chapters of the book were the best. The sex scenes were somehow hotter, the pace picks up and I just thought it made up for Hunter’s sometimes scary dominance and Kata’s whining.

This was a VERY HOT read. Loved it!

Adventurous Me (Me, You and Us #1) by Deanndra Hall

Book Description:

Published: March 31, 2014

Format: Free Digital Book

Boring. Tiresome. Predictable. That’s how Trish’s husband of almost 30 years described her when he told her he was leaving. Trish sets out to drink her blues away when she literally stumbles onto a man who offers her the adventure of a lifetime. Trish has no idea what she’s walking into when she visits Bliss, the local BDSM club, but under Dave’s tutelage, she takes to the new lifestyle readily.

And when she’s paired for two weeks with Clint, the one Dom in the place who can’t seem to stand her, sparks fly. He keeps her so confused that Trish isn’t sure what’s going on. She’s sure of one thing, however: She’s falling for the handsome, tortured soul, and she’s hoping he’s falling for her.

But when a simple mistake puts her in harm’s way at his hands, Trish has to decide: Is it an adventure worth dying for? And when everything falls apart, can she manage to forgive him? More importantly, can he forgive himself and bury the ghosts that have been haunting him for too long?

Adventurous Me is a fun, sexy, sweet, explicit, romantic romp that’ll leave you breathless and hopeful. And it’s definitely not for the under-18 crowd.

Review –

Adventurous Me is the first book I have read by author Deanndra Hall, but I can tell you, it definitely will not be my last. From the first page to the very last page I was completely hooked! I absolutely adore the main character, Trish. She proves that adventure and love have no boundaries no matter what your age is.

Trish is a forty-nine year old woman**, who is in the process of being divorced after thirty of marriage. Her soon to be ex husband claims her to be “boring, tiresome, and predictable”, so she sets out on an adventure to prove him and herself that she is anything but that.

While Trish is out drinking one night, trying to prove that regardless of her age she can still be adventurous, she falls into the lap (literally) of a man who is willing to show her just how adventurous and fun she can be, given the right circumstances. Trish is pulled into a world that she knew nothing about(BDSM) but embraces every single second of it. A world where she meets Clint.

Clint is a man who has been through a world of hurt. He’s a man who gets thrown together with Trish to show her the ropes (pun intended) of this new world that she is eager to explore. Together they learn many things about one another and about themselves as individuals.
This book has everything from sexual chemistry, steamy sex scenes, heartbreak to happiness and a HEA.

Loved it!

** One of the many reasons I loved this book is that the author shows how more mature (and older) women can have just as much fun and fulfillment at a “sex” club as the younger set. Most contemporary romances/erotica are written with a young perfect-bodied woman as the lead and some days that’s hard to relate to. So THANK YOU Deanndra Hall!

Dark Room (Society X #1) by L.P. Dover and Heidi McLaughlin

Book Description:

Published: January 23, 2016

Format: Free Digital Book

The rules of Society X are simple . . . break them and you’re out.
Rule #1 – No names
It doesn’t matter if you want to know, it’s forbidden.
Rule #2 – No exchanging numbers
It doesn’t matter if you want to call, it’s forbidden.
Rule #3 – Everything is to remain strictly anonymous.
It doesn’t matter if you want to tell, it’s forbidden.
The Dark Room is the only place you can live out your fantasies and no one will ever know it’s you.
For Parker, what started out as a business transaction has turned into an addiction.
For Mia, it’s been a chance to discover who she truly is.
What happens in the dark will have you begging for more . . .

Review –

Dark Room is the story of Parker and Mia. They have known  each other for ages, since he is her brother’s best friend. Mia just got out of a not so happy relationship and has the opportunity, to ‘test’ a club for adult fun (BDSM Club) called “Society X”. She has the need to step out of her ordinary and to risk something for once, for her crush on the older Parker is obviously one-sided. What she doesn’t know is, that Parker, who is a silent investor for Society X, is about to test the so-called “Dark Room” of the premises, too…

In the Dark Room there is no talking and no light, there is no exchanging of names or numbers and both Mia and Parker are intrigued by the thought of anonymous sex with a stranger and as fate will have it they become each other’s first and only partner in the Dark Room. The chemistry between the main characters is amazing both in and out of the Dark Room.

I don’t want to give too much away but just know it gets even better the more into the book you go and even though a bit predictable, who cares!

The story flows perfectly and the writing is good and the sex scenes are steamy.  Dark Room is as stand alone and I highly recommend it  if you’re looking for a super hot read.

Forbidden (Songs of Perdition 1-3) by CD Reiss

Book Description:

Published:December 1, 2015

Format: Audio

Everything about Fiona is forbidden.

She’s a party girl with dark desires.
She’s beautiful, irresponsible, irresistible.

She’s my patient.
I’m her therapist.

I’m past wanting her. Past possessing her. Past bedding her or protecting her.

I’m willing to be self-destructive, negligent, brave, audacious, and stronger than I ever believed possible.

She’s blunt force trauma to the heart.
And she calls another man Master.

Review –

Painful, beautifully erotic and breathtaking. It goes without saying that C.D. Reiss leaves me without words every single time and Forbidden sucked the life out of me. I have many things to say and i feel like words are not enough to describe this book.

It goes beyond the art of BDSM, is far more. The love and excitement of being a master and the peacefulness of being submitted. Forbidden was simply so much more. Fiona was beyond broken, a drug addict, a sex addict and a heavy drinker. Men wanted to save her, to soothe her pain, to love her.

The men in Fiona’s life are complete opposites. Deacon, Fiona’s longtime Dom/boyfriend, is dark and brooding. He is not a man to be crossed. He is handsome, confident, and ruthless. He loves Fiona deeply and sees it as his responsibility to keep her on track and out of trouble. He’s the sort of man that readers should want Fiona to be done with, but I found his strength and his dedication to Fiona quite appealing.

Elliot Chapman gave up his planned career in the seminary to become a therapist. His compassion for people, his sexual fantasies, and Fiona’s wantonness push him into an untenable and unethical situation. He wants to help her get better. He wants her to see her self-worth and make positive changes in her life. He wants to participate in the sexual kink that Fiona describes in their sessions. Elliot first appears as Fiona’s guardian angel, but I felt like his fantasies about his patient to be just as selfish as Deacon’s method for helping Fiona.

Forbidden was consuming from the beginning to the end. A hard book to put in words, so i just recommend you to read and just feel.

Forbidden can be a tough read. The mature, dark content will not appeal to some, but if you read this story more as a woman’s journey away from a self-destructive life, you’ll appreciate the glorious, rich details and character development of CD Reiss’ intricate storytelling.

There are be triggers for some readers.

Timeless (Black Brothers Standalone Novella) by Brynley Bush

Book Description:

Published:January 26, 2016

Format: Free Digital Book

Marcus Dunn came into my life ten years ago and possessed me body and soul, introducing me to a world of dark and forbidden pleasures before disappearing without a word.
I’ve never forgiven him.
Or forgotten him.

Walking away from Ariana McKnight was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
But running into her after all these years, handcuffed to a spanking bench, has me forgetting everything I promised myself ten years ago.
I still can’t have her.
But I can’t stay away.

One tough FBI agent who longs to give her power away—just not to him.
One former Navy SEAL who wants to take it, but can offer her nothing in return.
One snowbound weekend in the middle of nowhere with no choice but to resolve their unfinished business.

Review –

Ariana treats herself to a weekend getaway to explore her interest in BDSM. She never expects to run into Marcus Dunn. A love affair that she thought was just beginning was shattered  when he walked away ten years ago leaving her heart-broken.

Marcus has reasons why he left her behind and think one night with her will be sufficient, but one taste of giving her what she needs isn’t going to be enough.

The chemistry behind the two main characters seemed a bit stilted but I could have dealt with that had it not been for the convoluted storyline.  He’s an ex-Navy Seal and she is a FBI agent and he’s working on a case of insurance fraud and she helps him solve it (getting stabbed in the process). It was just too much for me.

I wish the author would have constructed a storyline out of her interest in the BDSM lifestyle, had her meet up with Marcus again and have them work out their problems and have a HEA and leave their jobs out of it.

I had high hopes for this book but was very disappointed .

The Devil’s Claim (Devil’s Kiss #2) by Gemma James

Book Description:

Published: July 1, 2016

Format: Free Digital Book

It’s been a year since Kayla Sutton walked away from Gage Channing. Now he’s back, and so is Ian Kaplan, Kayla’s one-time lover from her college days. Gage’s jealousy is his worst enemy, and when he thinks Kayla has chosen Ian, he sets in motion a drastic plan to claim what’s his. Only Kayla never expects him to infiltrate her heart so effortlessly, and she never dreamed there would come a day when he wouldn’t want her.

Gage believes she’s committed the ultimate sin, but will she use his mistake to finally escape the cage of his obsession? Or will she do whatever it takes to make him see he can entrust his heart to her…just as she’s already lost the core of her being to him?

NOTE TO READERS: THE DEVIL’S CLAIM is a dark romance with a BDSM edge that does NOT conform to safe, sane, and consensual practices. Includes explicit content and subject matter that may offend some readers. Intended for VERY  mature audiences.

Review –

This was offered as a free digital book, so I have not read the first one, but I think I could fill in the blanks enough to see the whole story.

There were some moments when I wanted to kick the shit out of Gage, but then he would “act normal” and I’d like him again. He was so frustrating. Evidently he’s made some changes since the first book, The Devil’s Kiss, according to Kayla. He made changes but HE did not change. He knows what he wants and will not take NO for an answer. He will just do it. Taking away Kayla’s choices once again. Kayla wants that though, I feel. She wants someone who will make the choices for her. Her mind says no, but her wetness tells a very different story. Gage is over controlling, overbearing, over-sexed,over-abusive,  over all everything, but Kayla wants him anyway.

There is a HEA but I don’t intend to read the next book, The Devil’s Wife, to see what happens to the couple because I’m afraid their future isn’t going to be all smooth sailing.

This book is very dark but I hear the first one is much darker so READER, BEWARE.

The Collar (Submissive #6) by Tara Sue Me

Book Description:

Published: July 7, 2015

Format: Audio/Audible

In her seductive new Submissive novel, Tara Sue Me introduces a sizzling hot new couple into Abby and Nathaniel’s world and explores the red-hot passion between Jeff and Dena that won’t be denied Fans of E. L. James, Sylvia Day, Maya Banks and Beth Kery will be seduced by New York Times bestselling author Tara Sue Me’s enthralling Submissive series.

Nathaniel and Abby West are struggling to navigate the challenging waters of their own relationship, when they get a surprising phone call from their partners in play, Dena and Jeff, who are in need of a helping hand…

Seven years ago, desperate for something exhilarating to help her escape the pressures of her carefully controlled life, lawyer Dena Jenkins joined a local BDSM club as a submissive. There she met brooding Dominant, Jeff, and, despite Dena’s doubts, they couldn’t stay away from each other. But as the years have passed, their blazing connection has proven difficult to maintain and resulted in a history they’d rather forget. To save their passion, Dena and Jeff will have to rediscover what it means to trust – and give themselves to each other completely…

Review –

Let me start with this…..OMG OMG OMG !!!!! I freaking LOVED every single second reading this book.

Dena and Jeff have a history. She was once his collared submissive, and while they seem to both lead independent lives, it is clear that neither has really moved on from the past. Their back story is an emotional sucker punch as we finally learn how they came together and the traumatic events that separated them.

Just as Jeff has finally made the decision to cut the final threads that tie him to the D/s group they both belong to and move out-of-town, he finds out that Dena has a stalker. All the old feelings are resurrected and the two try to find a way to air their baggage and find a way to work past it to be together. This is an interesting story because they’re both in love with each other and yet can’t seem to find a way to get back together, once they took the steps to step away from each other.

The signature D/s encounters that are so much a part of these stories are all there, but in many ways I find this story more emotionally enriching than some of the main stories featuring Nathaniel and Abby.  While D/s seems to emphasize transparency and honesty and absolute truth, their insecurities earlier prevented them from truly dropping all their walls. Now that they have a second chance, can they truly shed pride and insecurity and bare all to each other to forge the connection they need?

I enjoyed this story and I think the ending is beautifully done.  Clearly the next book will go back to Nathaniel and Abby and I CAN’T WAIT to see where their relationship will go next.
