Review –

Aubrey has cancer and is in love with Melissa’s husband, Tom. Tom and Melissa seem to have it all, but looks can be very deceiving. Melissa has cancer, or does she? Tom loves Melissa, or does he? Tom loves Aubrey or does he?

Aubrey thinks Tom is dragging his feet where their relationship is concerned so she is determined to take things into her own hands and kill Melissa but comes to like her and has a change of heart. Eventually she discovers that maybe she just imagined Tom being in love with her and sending her texts etc. and also discovers that he has been switching out Melissa’s supplements for caffeine and other OTC drugs that would be detrimental to her health.

Will Aubrey be able to convince Melissa that Tom is trying to poison her and what will happen to her in the end?

This was a great read from beginning to end and kept me guessing all the way. I love it when an author can make you THINK you understand what’s going on and in the next sentence has you completely changing your mind.

Loved it and the cover and highly recommend it.

I got this book free in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Happy
Trapped in a cage…

I was running against time and desperate to conquer my fears with my “don’t forget to be awesome” plan.
One night, I was sulking over my uglier-than-homemade-sin life and reeling from another painful loss. As I thought about my new life, a handsome gent named Hunt Hardick sat next to me. He looked like a good start and was likely a hell of a finish. Suddenly, my plan took on a life of its own.

Hunt
After a long day as one of San Francisco’s most prominent ob/gyns, I stopped at a bar for a bourbon and a mental break from my ex, who I couldn’t seem to bleach from my system. One glance at Happy’s tearstained angelic face and I was done. I’d never been a guy to turn down a stunning woman who also looked like a beautiful project.

Hunt was a key in my locked cage that once opened meant I might fly away.

An emotionally charged, rich with feeling story about survival, triumph, and a girl named Happy Go Lucky who had a plan. A plan that didn’t include the ruggedly sexy gynecologist who inserted himself in her life.

Review –

Of all the people who received an ARC of this book I am probably the only one that didn’t think it was fantabulous.

I think from the beginning,:  the names of the characters were a turn off. Hunt Hardick and Happy Go Lucky.

Hunt has just had his heart-broken, but remains the eternal optimist. He’s strong and confident while she’s like a deer in headlights, so their dynamic is quite a cat-and-mouse game… with TONS of tension.Happy is a woman with so many plans but doesn’t really know how to go about them. She wants to experience so many new things but hasn’t really taken the first step to achieve it. They leave you wanting to scream at them.

I have loved her other books,(check out my other reviews) but for me, this one missed the mark.

Fear Us (Broken Love #3) by B. B. Reid

Book Description:

Published: September 22, 2015

KEENAN
It’s been four years since I ran away—from home, my brother, and my maybe father. I created a life free of expectations while pretending I wasn’t being hunted by all of the above. I managed to stay under the radar all this time… or so I thought. When big brother shows up and saves my ass, I’m forced to face everything I left behind, including her.

SHELDON
It’s been four years since I became another statistic. I made a lot of mistakes when it came to Keenan Masters. The first was loving him at all. He took something from me the night he left, and when I told him I still loved him, he told me he’d always hate me. After that, I learned how to be okay… until he came back. Gone was the boy who always knew how to make me laugh, and in his place was a cold, arrogant monster.

Review –

Keenan Masters is, among other things, a grade A  a**hole. I hate him and I  also might love him. I know that sounds crazy, right, but the author, B. B. Reid,  has found a way for me to do both at the same time.

Sheldon  and Keenan dated through most of high school. Fear Us picks up four years after the end of high school, and when Keenan leaves town without a trace, leaving her behind. Keenan was always the fun-loving, easy-going player of the group. But Keenan has changed. He is no longer the man he was when he left town. A dark, sinister shell of a man has taken his place. Sheldon  has changed her life as well, and is determined to not fall  back into Keenan’s trap. They must find a way to work together to retrieve something precious that has been stolen.

He has changed so much that you wonder if there is anything left to be salvaged.  He is now hateful, vindictive and just plain mean and Sheldon doesn’t deserve any of that.

Can they come back from all the hurt and bad  memories ? Only time will tell.

B.B. Reid did a fantastic job, as always, with the erotic sex (I won’t go so far as to say LOVE ) scenes and made me feel a bit guilty tot be enjoying them so much.

The Broken Love series  is a chain of  love stories , dark and erotic, so if you want a change of pace I highly recommend it.

Book four, Breaking Love, comes out next month and is the story of Dash and Willow.  Can’t wait!
