Lust by Lucia Jordan

Book Description:

Published: April 7, 2014

Back in high school Claire and Brent used to joke that if they were not married to other people by the time they were thirty they would marry each other. Brent remembers his friend as the geeky, glasses wearing redhead, who was always a little too tall and skinny, and Claire remembers Brent as the shy guy with the nice smile and the gentlemanly manners. Neither of them is ready for the fact that Claire is a gorgeous, willowy beauty and Brent is a strapping virile man with a thick shock of blonde hair and a heart stopping, panty dropping smile. What begins with a blindfold develops into a deep exploration that leads far beyond friendship and their previous limits.

Claire, fresh from a breakup with Greg, is very receptive to seeing her old next door neighbor, who is now out of the military and starting a new job in New York. She remembers him as tall, lanky and nerdy and that is NOT what greets her when he comes to visit. He is tall with muscles everywhere and a killer smile.

They go to a bar, get a bit drunk and end up having sex back at Claire’s apartment. The next morning nothing is said but that night it happens again. Each one believes that it’s just about the sex and the other doesn’t want a relationship,(rarely is their communication in these stories)

Brent goes to her office to let her know how he truly feels and sees Claire in the arms of her old flame,Greg. What he doesn’t know is that Greg came to see Claire unexpectedly and is asking her for a “booty call” (the nerve!) and she is trying to get out of his clutches.  Claire looks up in time to see Brent turn and head for the elevators and tries to catch him but by the time she reaches the street he’s gone.  END. Can we all say CLIFF HANGER!!!!!!

Even though the plot was good and the main characters did have hot chemistry I just wasn’t pulled into the story enough to buy the next book in the series.

Maybe next time.
