When reporter Ellen Gleeson gets a “Have You Seen This Child?” flyer in the mail, she almost throws it away. But something about it makes her look again, and her heart stops–the child in the photo is identical to her adopted son, Will. Her every instinct tells her to deny the similarity between the boys, because she knows her adoption was lawful. But she’s a journalist and won’t be able to stop thinking about the photo until she figures out the truth. And she can’t shake the question: if Will rightfully belongs to someone else, should she keep him or give him up? She investigates, uncovering clues no one was meant to discover, and when she digs too deep, she risks losing her own life–and that of the son she loves.
Lisa Scottoline breaks new ground in Look Again, a thriller that’s both heart-stopping and heart-breaking, and sure to have new fans and book clubs buzzing.
This is another audio book by Lisa Scottoline that I found at my local library.
It’s a captivating story of a mother with an adopted son who doesn’t really want to know if it is his picture on a flyer, but feels compelled to do. What you be that brave? I don’t know if I could. She’s had the boy for two years and seen him through sickness and heart surgery and ignores her job, which she needs desperately. to travel around and find the facts about this birth and adoption.
I’m not going to go into detail about some plot points or the ending because it would ruin the story for anyone wanting to read or listen to this book.
Let’s just say that the story is full of drama, suspense, danger,a hint of romance and healing and finding out that certain people aren’t at all what you thought they were. I have truly become a fan of Lisa Scottoline, which I never thought would happen after listening to one of her other books. I vowed at that time that I wouldn’t read or listen to another, but, as you can see I have several in my recent reading history. She has become one of my favorite authors.
