What happens when she’s had enough?

Lake Monroe has given in to her childhood tormentor too many times. She knows it, he knows it, and even their enemies know it. When he returned after being found guilty of a crime he didn’t commit—a crime he thought she set him up for, he returned darker than ever, demanding her body and her submission. To survive him, she knew she had to give in to fear once more or suffer the deadly consequences…

But Lake experienced what it was like to submit to the dark and demanding boy who invaded her dreams. Now she’ll experience what it’s like to fight him.

What happens when he wants more?

Keiran Masters has a past that is both shocking and dark. Once enslaved, he now has demons he can’t escape—demons that have followed him for ten years, demons he blames his beautiful obsession for. He promised to make her pay. He promised to make her break…

But after Keiran had conquered her body and tasted her submission, he found a new addiction instead—one he has no intention of giving up.

As secrets unfold,
Identities are revealed,
Danger closes in,
And they both discover what it really means to fear…

Review –

This book is so hot that it is combustible. I rated it five stars *****.

When the book begins Keiran is incarcerated for murdering two high school students by burning them alive. Only, he didn’t do it.  Lake turned him in, again, and when she did, she honestly believed he was guilty.  By selling him soul to a person worse than the devil, he gets out and he and Lake go at it again, hating each other and loving each other. There is so much sexual tension and actual sex taking place that at times it’s hard to stay focused. (I did my best) We learn so much about Keiran’s past and about what really happened to Lake’s parents and numerous other pieces of the puzzle fall into place. This is an edge of the seat book and I can’t wait til Fall of this year for Fear Us to come out. Even though Keiran is so dark and damaged he is one of my all time favorite male book characters.

Fear Me (Broken Love #1) by B.B. Reid

Book Description:

Published: January 26, 2015

I don’t believe in fairy tales and Prince Charming.

I believe in fear.

He taught me how to be afraid.

We first met on a playground on a wonderful summer day. It was the first time he hurt me and it wouldn’t be the last. For ten years, he’s been my tormentor and I’ve been his forbidden. But then he went away, and yet I was still afraid.

Now he’s back and wants more than just my tears. You see…he thinks I sent him away so now he wants revenge…and he knows just how to get it.

PLEASE READ THE WARNINGS. This book is a new adult and contains rough elements such as harsh language, mild violence, strong sexual content, alpha male, antihero, blackmail, and dubious consent.

Fear Me, in all, contains sensitive themes many people aren’t able to swallow.

Review –

I just finished reading Fear Me by B.B. Reid and I must say it is one of the darkest books that I have EVER read.

Keiran Masters had been enslaved and abused for the first seven years of his life and trained as a killer. He admits to making his first kill at the age of six. Among his early kills was a little girl, Lily, who was being starved and beaten and would have been trained to do horrible things, had Keiran not killer her to save her. He also killed a woman who he later found out was his mother.

At the age of eight he goes to live with an Uncle and sees a little girl, Lake, trying to help a smaller boy down from a jungle gym and he pushes her off and she is hurt. Thus begins the  the ten-year obsession he has with her-hurting her, humiliating her, taking away her friends, hurting people she cares about and stealing her virginity. But he cares for her too but has a very hard time showing it. He has never been shown any form of kindness.  Lake, is scared to death of Keiran but eventually falls in love with him and then due to events beyond their scope of responsibility, he says he has to LET HER GO.  Lake can’t believe that he is discarding her, just like that. And to make matters worse, she finds out her parents, whom she thought had abandoned her, had really been murdered. The end took my breath away!

Love this book.  Going to start the next one right away.2FED61D33FBEDE862055F09805BBCB8C

**Mature Content Warning** 17+ for language and sexual content.
(A re-imagining of the authors young adult book, The Fallen Star, told as a New Adult Paranormal)

Although I read the book to the end and rated it four stars **** on Good Reads, it wasn’t my cup of tea. By that I mean that there were too many unknown factors about almost every character   and I really didn’t  care for the mythological side of the story, but maybe that’s how all Adult Paranormal books are. Maybe this was my first venture into that genre, I don’t even know but it lost me. There is a lot of explicit sex and seemed out of context with the story line sometimes  but maybe that was needed to make it Adult.

If you like Adult Erotic Paranormal Romances and this is for you but I’m not going any further with the series.

Lead Me Not (Twisted Love #1) by A. Meredith Walters

Book Description:

Published: August 5, 2014

In this dangerously sexy novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Find You in the Dark, a straight-laced college student meets a handsome but enigmatic stranger who lures her into an underground club scene, where she finds it difficult to resist temptation

Aubrey Duncan understands loss. She knows what rock bottom looks like, and she is determined to crawl back up to the top after the sudden death of her younger sister. She blames herself for her part in the tragedy, convinced that she could have done something, anything, to help her.

In her effort to gain redemption, Aubrey starts fresh at Longwood University and facilitates an addiction support group, hoping she can support someone else in the way she failed her sister. But what she doesn’t count on is an all-consuming fascination with group member Maxx Demelo, a gorgeous, blond, blue-eyed enigma who hides dark secrets behind a carefully constructed mask. He only reveals what he wants others to see. But Aubrey glimpses another Maxx hidden below the surface—a Maxx who is drowning in his own personal hell.

As Aubrey and Maxx develop an attraction too intense to ignore, he pulls her into the dark underbelly of the city club scene, where she is torn by her desire to save him and an inexplicable urge to join him in his downward spiral. Worst of all, she is beginning to love everything she should run away from—a man who threatens to ignite in her a fire that could burn her alive…

Review –

I was very conflicted with this story line because I wanted Aubrey and Maxx to work out as a couple even though Aubrey is  a tortured soul and  Maxx on the other hand is a lost soul, only he can’t see it-they are no good together.

Maxx is a bad boy in every sense of the word and Aubrey is drawn to that(most girls are) and when she discovers his addiction to drugs she throws her job protocol out the window and feels she can “love” him into coming clean. On the surface Maxx admits to having a problem but deep down he’s in denial so he just pulls Aubrey down with him. She finally tells him to get help or else and at the end of the story he admits to a doctor that indeed he may need some outside help.

I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the Twisted Love series.
