What I Want by L. N. Cronk

Book Description

November 29, 2013
Taking readers into the life of David andLaci’s youngest child, this stand-alone novel can be considered “Book 9” in the Chop, Chop series. Born with serious birth defects, Marco begins his story this way:Feisímo.

My entire life, people have called me this.

Most often, my sister Grace – hissing it into my ear whenever she thought she could get away with it. Other times it was my classmates, counting on their words to be drowned out by the noise of other children on the playground during recess. Sometimes it would be a little kid at a restaurant, blurting out the truth before a mortified parent could shush them into silence. Occasionally it might be a stranger on the street, not actually saying anything, but glancing away in embarrassment for me, saying it all the same, even without any words.

Throughout the years, many different people have told me in many different ways, and despite my parents’ constant attempts to convince me otherwise, I know exactly what I am . . . what I’ve always been.

I have always known.

Review –
Marco has some physical deformities and through surgeries they are  now not as noticeable he still finds it hard to relate to normal people especially girls. That’s why his whole life he has loved a blind girl named Bizzy but is this what God has planned for him? This is a faith based coming of age book. A pleasant read.

The Reclamation (The Club #2) by Lauren Rowe

Book Description

January 26, 2015
Sarah:“My entire life has spiraled into chaos—and yet, all I can think about is my raging, thumping, insatiable addiction to Jonas’ magical touch. He’s unleashed an all-consuming hunger inside me that can only be satisfied when Jonas finally surrenders to me the same way I’ve surrendered to him—mind, body and soul.”Jonas and Sarah’s addictive love story picks up right where the first book left off, hurtling to a heart-stopping conclusion that will leave readers breathless and screaming for the unforgettable final installment of The Club Trilogy.**Readers 18+ only due to graphic adult content and explicit language**

Review –
This book is my least favorite of the series because all it seems to be is Sarah and Jonas arguing back and forth. That is, until the end. The end is gruesome and although not totally unexpected I didn’t think it would be so brutal.

The Stranger by Harlan Coben

March 24, 2015
#1 New York Times bestselling master of suspense Harlan Coben delivers his most shocking thriller yet, proving that a well-placed lie can help build a wonderful life– and a secret has the same explosive power to destroy it.The Stranger appears out of nowhere, perhaps in a bar, or a parking lot, or at the grocery store. His identity is unknown. His motives are unclear. His information is undeniable. Then he whispers a few words in your ear and disappears, leaving you picking up the pieces of your shattered world.

Adam Price has a lot to lose: a comfortable marriage to a beautiful woman, two wonderful sons, and all the trappings of the American Dream: a big house, a good job, a seemingly perfect life.

Then he runs into the Stranger. When he learns a devastating secret about his wife, Corinne, he confronts her, and the mirage of perfection disappears as if it never existed at all. Soon Adam finds himself tangled in something far darker than even Corinne’s deception, and realizes that if he doesn’t make exactly the right moves, the conspiracy he’s stumbled into will not only ruin lives—it will end them.

Review –
This is another winner for Harlan Coben. I rated it five stars ***** on Goodreads. It draws you in from the beginning and leads you down a twisted path bounded  with deception, secrets, mysteries, murder and a heart wrenching ending.  An absolutely must read if you are a mystery fan.

Book Description

August 5, 2014
***Can be read as a standalone or as part of the Rock Falls series

Hannah Rhodes has just gotten out of a long term relationship, and she isn’t looking for a new man in her life. But after a night out with the girls and one too many tequila shots, her plans to stay man free are blown all to hell. She finds herself in bed with the smoldering stranger from a party six months back and immediately knows she’s in trouble, big trouble. And the last thing Hannah needs is more trouble.

Her last relationship took her out like an emotional freight train, and she’s trying to piece back the stability her life once had.

Greyson Holt’s biggest fear in life is to end up like his father, like the man who left him as a child, and broke his mother’s heart. He vowed to never be responsible for that kind of carnage. Men could be cruel and that kind of brutality was in his blood. He never allows himself to get too close to anyone, until he meets Hannah.

Something about her makes him want to try, but a man can’t change overnight.

Will Holt be able to catch Rhodes every time he lets her go? Or will their chase end in heartbreak?

Review –
This is a boy meets girl, boy wants girl, boy is obsessed with girl and boy gets girl story but with a lot of drama and  explicit sex thrown in. Great read.
I read this as a stand alone because it was so good I thought I’d be disappointed by the others in the series.

Review –
This is a fantastic book and I almost read it in one sitting. The characters are very well-developed and the plot, though fantasy, is very believable. It’s a story of forbidden love, jealousy, hatred, war, secrets and mature content.  I can’t wait to read the sequel.
