I think it was the subject of archaeology that made this story less attractive to me and thus less enchanting.  It has been my least favorite of the series so far.

Book Description

Release date: September 27, 2012
When Barry Fairbrother dies unexpectedly in his early forties, the little town of Pagford is left in shock. Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war. Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils…. Pagford is not what it first seems. And the empty seat left by Barry on the town’s council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen. Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and unexpected revelations? Blackly comic, thought-provoking and constantly surprising, The Casual Vacancy is J.K. Rowling’s first novel for adults.
Review-
J.K. Rowling should go back to writing young adult or children’s book because I my estimation this book is a total waste of paper.
I chose the audio version and still I didn’t find anything about it that I even came close to liking and if I had had to READ page after page I don’t know  if I would have held on to my sanity.    In short, do not waste your time.

Book Description

Publication Date:April 24, 2012
For the first time in hardcover, here is #1 New York Times bestselling author Karen Marie Moning’s novella Into the Dreaming, a tale of Highland fantasy, star-crossed lovers, and the timeless manipulation of the ancient, immortal Unseelie king. This is Moning at her romantic, funniest finest. Free him from his ice-borne hell . . . Stolen from his beloved home in the Highlands of Scotland, imprisoned in the Unseelie king’s dark, frosty kingdom, Aedan MacKinnon endured centuries of torture before becoming the icy, emotionless Vengeance, the dark king’s dispatcher of death and destruction in the mortal realm. And in his century you both may dwell . . . Aspiring romance novelist Jane Sillee has always believed that she was born in the wrong century, but she’s managed to make a decent enough life for herself—if only she could stop having those recurring dreams about a man too perfect to exist. In the Dreaming you have loved him . . . Haunted every night of her life by a devastatingly sexy Highlander who comes to her while she sleeps, Jane tries to write him out of her head and heart. As a child he protected her, as a woman he loves her. Now in the Waking you must save him . . . When an ancient tapestry bearing the likeness of her beloved Highlander arrives on her doorstep, Jane is whisked back in time to fifteenth-century Scotland, to the castle of Dun Haakon on the isle of Skye, where she is given one chance to save her dream lover . . . or lose him forever to the Unseelie king. Caught in a deadly game between the light and dark courts of the Fae, Jane must find a way through the ice to the heart of her Highander. But will the love of one mortal woman be enough to defeat such ancient and ruthless immortal enemies?  From the Hardcover version.
Review-

I chose the audio version of this book and I loved listening to the narrator speak with a Scottish accent. (Swoon) The story itself was very short (only three CD’s) but it was very good and since this is the first time I’ve tried a Highlander storyline I was quite pleased. If you’re a fan of Karen Marie Moning you should give this a try. Warning: There is sexual content.

This installment of Aunt Dimity’s Mysteries is a combination of a cozy mystery and a gothic love story, well, sort of.  It’s great.   I loved it and went on to the next one.
